SAFEGUARDS
CONCEPT: Security safeguards must be in place to protect against inappropriate use, access and disclosure
- Security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information protect personal information held by Salumatics. Security safeguards protect personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
- Salumatics protects personal information regardless of the format in which it is held. The methods of protection include:
i. physical measures (e.g. restricted access to physical premises including video surveillance, motion detectors, scan key entry);
ii. organizational measures (e.g. Information Protection Program and privacy training); and
iii. technological measures (e.g. use of passwords, access monitoring and audits).
- Salumatics takes care in the disposal or destruction of personal information to prevent unauthorized parties from gaining access to the information.
