Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention
CONCEPT: Storage, use, and disclosure of the information are limited to the stated purpose
- Salumatics does not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law.
- Salumatics retains personal information only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of stated purposes. Salumatics, in conjunction with its clients, has developed guidelines and implemented procedures with respect to the retention of personal information, including minimum and maximum retention periods.
- Personal information that is no longer required to fulfill the identified purposes is destroyed, erased, or made anonymous. Salumatics, in conjunction with its clients, has developed guidelines and implemented procedures to govern the destruction of personal information.
- Salumatics returns all information collected from the client to the client or ensures its secure destruction as established contractually. Salumatics will not pass on that information to a third party.
- Only Salumatics staff who are trained in matters of privacy and confidentiality and who have an obligation to comply with the Salumatics Corporate Privacy Pledge, are able to view health records/health data.
